Racial Harmony Day @ Starlearners Simei!

In the month of July, Star Learners @ Simei held a celebration for Racial Harmony Day for the Children.

It was an exciting day for the children as most of them came dressed in their traditional ethnic costumes.

Our children were also treated to a host of games and activities! It was an educational experience as they learnt about different games and activities associated with different races.

During the celebration, our children got to see & learn about different ethnic costumes, tried food from different cultures, and were taught about the different lifestyles that people of different cultures lead.

Most importantly, they learnt about racial harmony- that although we might be from different backgrounds, we are all friends who play with each other and learn from each other. After all, getting to know about different people is so interesting!

Here are some pictures from our Racial Harmony Day!

Star Learners @ Sembawang Update for Jul!

Hi All!

In the month of July, Star Learners at Sembawang held a Pediasure Height & Weight Check Programme as well as a Fruits & Vegetables Paradise programme for our children!

Here are the pictures!

During the Pediasure Weight & Height Check, our children get to take their weights & heights & are taught about why this is important. They are also taught the importance of eating the right foods so that they grow well and fast and become a healthy and happy big boy or big girl!

For our Fruits & Vegetables Paradise programme, children learn about different fruits & vegetables, learn about why they look different from each other & even get to taste the different fruits & vegetables! Our children are also taught why eating fruits & vegetables are good for them and that they should always eat their greens during meal times!

July update from Star Learners @ Pasir Ris!

Star Learners @ Pasir Ris had the pleasure of having Flynn & Noah's Grandma give a story telling session to our chilren. Their Grandma has had many years of teaching experience in school, and it showed! Our little children at Starlearners enjoyed themselves so much with Grandma's story telling!

Here are some pictures!

See how happy and entranced our little children looked! :)

We are so thankful and appreciative of parents/grandparents who are happy to volunteer their time with our little children, as well as take the time to bond with their children/grandchildren.

If you are interested in joining us as a parent volunteer in our Star Learners activities or offering some type of expertise or connections to outings (or anything at all really!) that you think our children will enjoy, please do contact us at starlearners@yahoo.com or speak to our Centre Supervisors directly!

We will be most happy to see how we can include your help or suggestions in our schedule!

Dance as Expression @ Star Learners Eunos

Star Learners at Eunos conducted a dance item with our nursery one children wearing props made by themselves! The children were so proud to be wearing props that they made and enjoyed the dance session thoroughly!

Music helps to enhance happy moods in young children. Young children also learn to move their bodies in creative ways and gain body awareness. Dance clearly enhances and reinforces self-concept through their dance movements. Through the usage of props, and with our teachers setting the scene, they were also able to use their imagination and dance expressively, which was clearly so enjoyable for them, and for us too!
